I’ve some friends who are confused about goinf for Nokia N97 or not. Some say that there isn’t much difference between Nokia 5800 Xpressmusic but the price is almost just double. Well they may be right to some extent but I’ve listed 5 points which gives a clear picture to go for Nokia N97

1) Its massive memory – 32 GB , not just 32GB its also expandable through card. So total memory = 48GB .. wow

2) Full QWERTY keyboard – (Not available in 5800 xpressmusic)

3) Widget support unlike 5800.

4) 5 MP, Carl zeiss optics camera.

5) FM transmitter

These are just specification differences. Apart from these , n97 is a lot more faster than 5800. User interface is quite smooth. Checkout the N97 video at the right hand side of the page.

1) Do rigrous Research work on the internet. You don;t have to ask any one. ofcourse you will have to spend some time to make yourself  happy.

2) Ask for price tag. This is one of the most influencing factor of any purchase. You maybe getting someting better in the smae price tag. Although you may get price info on the internet, but go to your local store and confirm it. This comes after your reasech work on the internet in complete.

3) Don’t compromise with these main Features : Battery Backup, Screen Size & Resolution, Camera, Keypad/touchpad.

4) Don;t Limit your self to a particluar brand. Its human nature of getting along with his/her first best experience, but my friend, there maybe better options out there. If you are a NOKIA freak then do check out other brands such as Sony Ercisson, Samsung, Apple etc.

5) Warranty/Gurantee, Customer Service of the Brand. Bad <<< make people Shout and Cry (literally).

The new firmware version brings in the Mobile Dictionary and Application Update Apps to the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic. The first one offers you voice playback and text-to-speech, supporting 38 languages.

As the name suggests Application Update manages the new updates for your installed apps, making them easy to keep up to date.

The 5800 XpressMusic new firmware revision also brings two new camera features. The first is the burst mode, which allows the primary camera to take multiple photos with a single key press. The second is enabling the secondary camera to take photos. Up until now it could only be used for video-calling.

As usually lots of bug-fixes and performance improvements complete the change log. According to Nokia the 5800 XpressMusic handsets that get the new firmware should have faster user interface and greater download speeds.

Considering the enormous popularity of the 5800 XpressMusic it’s hardly surprising that Nokia are rushing to fix all those irritating bugs that plague its first S60 full touch handset. Despite some hardware issues it had recently, the handset is selling in volumes, making it quite likely that this is not the last firmware update it will see.

Before you go for update keep these points in mind

1) Create Full Backup of your phone

2) Plug your mobile to charger

3) Do not, at anypoint, consider that your mobile phone god hanged, just wait for as long as possible. If you switch off your phone in between, you will be gone. Sevrice center will be the only option after that. So patience is required.

If you are too afraid, then go to NOKIA service center and ask them to update the firmware for you.
